This was the first time that I used tinted paints to get the outlines, namely dark purple, dark brown and really dark blue. It's a bit of a painstaking process, but it really helps to get the paint at just the right consistency so it'll flow nicely. I think my eyesight is going and I have glasses that I'm supposed to wear for reading, but I really only use them for close-up detail work like this. So I've had a headache since yesterday afternoon and I assume that's what it's from. :)

yep. I find I work better with paint is I use a scumbling or stipple effect. I'm not proficient at the blending yet, especially when it's drying fast. Glad you like it so far!
