The Big Red Cat

I began this painting this past spring and was almost finished with it when I got the call about the children's book gig. So instead of taking another day or two to finish this one, which is what I should have done, I put it aside. Last week after I finished the Oz pieces I figured enough screwing around, let's whip this thing out. The painting, I mean. If I remember correctly, the sketch this is based on is from one of my dreams. Occasionally in a dream I'll see a scenario, or sometimes I'll see an actual painting that I guess my dream self did, and I'll take parts of it and make a sketch. The cat was in one of those dreams, the little bug guy was in a different dream, so I threw them together for just a fun little painting. I'm not sure whose house it is, it may be the bug's house or maybe he's the intruder, who knows! Hope you guys likey!
