DC's Etrigan the DEMON

I got into the Demon when DC did a little 4 issue miniseries many moons ago, then they came out with an ongoing series that went for I guess 60 or 80 issues. they've recently resurrected the character, but I'm not sure how I like the new series. It takes place in the DC universe along with Batman and Superman and all the other superheroes, but I think it would be better suited to the Vertigo line, with supporting characters like John Constantine and the family of the Endless. It just seems that they could go a lot darker with the character if it was a Vertigo title. I mean come on, he's a friggin' demon for chrissakes, not a superhero! He shouldn't have too many redeeming qualities and be working alongside of Wonder Woman. Still a geat character though and I always wanted to do my own version of him. Not sure if I like my layout too much however. I drew just Etrigan in his pose and later added the fireball, but I think maybe there's too much happening there on the right side of the piece now. Sometimes my work doesn't lend itself to glows and stuff like that. I figured I'd go ahead and post him anyway. I really like the way the actual character turned out.

This is my fourth deviation in a row that has been filed under fanart. After browsing through some of the stuff here lately I was inspired to put my own twist on some of my favorite comic characters.

I never liked the fireball, so since I was bored this evening, I made a new one and changed the shape of the piece a bit. I like this one much better. I also added some color to the lines around his skin, something I haven't experimented with much, but I really dig the effect sometimes.
